Reliable for my research needs

I've been using Elicit for about a year now, mostly for the Data Extraction Tool and Paper Summarization. This last renewal for Elicit Pro was smooth, just like previous times. They're consistent. The new Citation Analysis feature they added has been a real help; it wasn't there when I first signed up, so it's good to see improvements. I keep coming back because it just works, and I don't have to fuss with setting up new tools.

Elicit Pro is a lifesaver!

Oh my goodness, Elicit Pro is absolutely fantastic! The Research Question Refinement and Systematic Review Automation are pure magic for my academic work. I can't believe how much quicker I'm getting through my papers now. It's so user-friendly too; I didn't have to spend ages figuring it out. This tool has totally transformed my research process. I'm telling everyone in my department about it!

Good value with annual plan

I was looking for an AI research assistant that wouldn't break the bank, and Elicit's annual subscription for the Plus plan seemed like the best option. I saved a decent amount by paying yearly. The Automated Screening feature has already saved me hours on my literature review. It felt like a solid investment for the price, definitely worth it for the time I'm saving on my project.

Can you use promo codes on the annual plans? Or are they just for monthly subs?

M Mark Parker 3 days ago
Pretty sure most of the good ones apply to the annual plans, especially for the first year. That's how I got mine.

Definitely saw some codes that were specifically for annual billing. They want you to commit, I guess, haha.

What happens if I need to cancel my subscription? Is it a hassle, or can you just do it easily online?

N Nick J. 1 week ago
Super easy. Just go into your account settings and hit cancel. No need to call anyone or jump through hoops.

I canceled my basic plan once and it was straightforward. No issues at all.

So if I get the Plus plan, how many papers can I actually analyze per month? Is there a cap or anything?

M Michelle Harris 3 weeks ago
They have a certain number of credits or whatever they call it, which translates to papers. It's quite a bit for Plus, I haven't hit a limit yet.

There is a limit, but it's pretty generous for most research tasks. You'd have to be doing a massive project to run into it, I think.

Hey, thinking of signing up for Elicit. Anyone know if they have a student discount? My university email should work, right?

A Amber Gonzalez 1 month ago
Yeah, they totally do. I used my .edu address and got a pretty sweet deal last semester.

I think I saw it mentioned on their site somewhere. It's usually a good chunk off the annual plan, so definitely worth checking out before you subscribe.

Found a promo code online, but where do you even put it in when you're checking out? I can't seem to find the box.

J Julia W. 1 week ago
It's usually right before you confirm your payment, in the checkout flow. Should be a little 'add promo code' link or box.

I remember seeing it when I upgraded to Plus. Just keep an eye out on the final page before you hit 'pay'.

How does Elicit stack up against something like ResearchRabbit or Semantic Scholar? Is it worth switching if I'm already using those?

S Sofia P. 3 weeks ago
Elicit feels more geared towards actively summarizing and extracting data, not just finding papers. Like, it'll tell you what the papers actually *say*.

B Brittany Parker 3 weeks ago
I use both Elicit and ResearchRabbit. ResearchRabbit is great for finding related papers, but Elicit is better for really digging into the content and getting summaries. Different tools for different parts of the process, I'd say.

Anyone know if Elicit is good for actual systematic reviews? Or is it more for just general literature searches?

E Emma 3 weeks ago
It's pretty decent for systematic reviews, especially the initial screening and data extraction parts. Cuts down a lot of manual work.

J James M. 3 weeks ago
I've used it for a few systematic reviews. It's not a magic bullet, but it definitely helps organize and summarize a ton of papers way faster than doing it by hand.
